ARC ONE
In the beginning, there was nothing. No land, no water, no sky, just a void. And then, suddenly there was a world. A land of absolute beauty, with mountains dusted in snow, fields graced with flowers, forests that ran rampant and grew to immense sizes, and oceans that merged and tunneled into rivers and lakes. For a time, there was nothing else in the world but nature, and the clouds in the sky. But eventually, there were animals that sprung forth. Large ones that roamed the land and small ones that flitted through the air. This is the true beginning of our world.
In the tales told to the younger generations, there are discrepancies and myths. In some versions, the Celestials were the first beings, and the creators of the world. In other stories it is said that the Wyrms, with their infinite power, created every aspect of the world, and were the original beings. Since ancient times the Wyrms and the Celestials have fought over who were the first and who were the more powerful. As enemies they have shaped the world into what it is today, but that is a different story.

ARC TWO
Being the only beings in the world, the Celestials and the Wyrms quickly became bored. So, on their own, they each created a new species to keep them company, and serve them. The Celestials created the Elves, creatures made of life, nature and light, that eventually took on a humanoid appearance as the years passed. They were treated with respect by the Celestials, used as servants and companions by their creators.
On the other hand, the Wyrms created the Daemons, a species of pure darkness that had no free will of their own. They were made to serve their masters and were forced into slavery. This treatment warped their minds and made them evil and careless. They began to care only for themselves, destroying the things around them with no guilt. The only thing they feared were their masters.

ARC THREE
Time passed slowly. For the Celestials it was a peaceful and prosperous time. With the Elves they enriched the land and built kingdoms from stone to protect themselves from the elements. The Elves became attached to the animals of the forests and jungles, and helped them evolve and become stronger.
In other parts of the world, the Wyrms were preparing for a war. They didn't care for the land as the Celestials did, and with their Daemon slaves, they slowly grew an army to overtake the Celestials and the Elves. However, they did not take into account that the Celestials had created primitive weapons from stone and steel.
The first war ended in bloodshed for the Wyrms. Their numbers were considerably weakened, and they had to retreat back to darkness to lick their wounds. The Celestials celebrated their victory by proclaiming that the Elves were to be treated with equality and respect, and no longer be servants to the Celestials unless they wanted to do so.
The Elves were given free reign in their kingdoms, and knowing that the Wyrms would be back again, they decided to create a new species to help protect them. The Weres. Animals that the Elves magicked into human forms, and gave strength and agility to. Weres were to be the guards and protectors of the cities, loyal without fault and unquestioning of their role in life.
The Wyrms were also tampering with nature, in a less than savory way. With help from the Daemons, they created the Moroi. A group of beings whose minds were twisted into doing the Daemons bidding. Should a war break out, they would be the foot soldiers. Shields for the Daemons and Wyrms to hide behind. Cannon fodder who were not allowed to question their existence.

ARC FOUR
For centuries, the Celestials heard nothing from the Wyrms or their abominations. Together with the Elves and Weres, they created more kingdoms and advanced in ways that had at first seemed impossible. Soon, they discovered humans, evolved forms of the primates that the Elves found amusing. They taught humans how to speak and read, how to cook and create fire. After years of evolution, humans eventually could learn on their own, and while they were treated with respect by the other beings, they knew that they were at the bottom of the food chain.
Some Elves retreated into the forests and woods outside of villages and cities. Disappearing without a trace and without reason. Then, slowly, they reemerged from the trees, changed by their time away from what they knew. These new Elves called themselves Fae. Changed by the darkness they were no longer beings of light. Some still kept their good graces, while others became tricksters and were more like the Wyrms then their creators.

ARC FIVE
The stories never tell the truth about The Great War. Taken by surprise, the Celestials were beaten down by the Wyrms and Daemons. The Elves were too fragile to fight back and retreated into the citadels of the kingdoms. The Weres tried their best against the force of the Moroi and Daemons, but eventually they were taken down. While the Wyrms began to take over the cities and kingdoms, the Daemons and Moroi began to pillage and destroy everything good they could find.
When the world seemed at it's darkest point and bright light came forth. A Celestial, Alelan, the oldest of all the beings sacrificed herself to stop the Wyrms from destroying everything they had spent so long creating. Using her soul, she threw a protective spell over the world that took the Wyrms powers away. Useless, they retreated with their slaves back to the mountains and plains.

ARC SIX
But like all spells, this one did not last forever. While Alelan sacrificed much she gained very little. For a thousand years the world rebuilt itself, and the Wyrms waited patiently. Waiting for the day when their powers would return and they could lay siege against the Celestials and their followers.
Which is where our story begins. The Wyrms have gained back their powers and are plotting their revenge.

Whose side will you be on?
