love is not a victory march "DENNY. Why do you insist on being the bane of my existence!" Sono stomped into the main room of the small shop and glared at the Sloth Were laying on one of the table tops. Food seemed to cover every inch of the table that his body didn't and Sono felt a groan of annoyance leave her lips before she could stop it. Yellow and red waves of sound rolled off his stomach as he chewed on each piece as slowly as possible. "Denny.... Is that dinner from last night?" Her eyes scanned the ripped pieces of meat and bread and what she could only assume was once a bowl of mash potatoes that was now tipped over on the floor. Denny continued to slowly chew on a piece of meat with his eyes barely showing any feelings what so ever. After a few moments he glanced over at her and offered her a small smile. " "Save it Denny." Sono glowered at the sloth and placed her hands on her hips. Interrupting him wasn't something she did often, the poor guy couldn't help that it took him forever to get a sentence out. It wasn't his fault he was born a sloth. But it was his fault that he was now the main course of a massive mess that Sono would more than likely have to clean up. Alone. Like always. Denny offered her another smile and Sono felt her heart lightening up. He was really one of the friendliest people in this city and he didn't mean to be a mess. It just sort of happened. Her hands dropped from her sides and she couldn't help but offer him a half smile in return. "What am I going to do with you? Huh?" Sono walked over to him, leaning down to pick up the bowl and sighing in relief when her inspection showed no cracks or chips. "How long have you been here?" She grabbed at a few more bits of food on the ground before standing up. Denny reached one slim arm out towards what she held in her hands and she turned away from him. "Nuh uh uh. This is from last night. Don't you want fresh food?" " "Well, you're going to have to help me clean up, and then wait for the chef to wake up." She glanced up at the ceiling above her, there was absolutely no movement up there, not even a brown hum to let her know that he was up and about. Which meant it was far too early for Sono to deal with this. She dropped the bowl and bits of food in the sink near the back of the room and grabbed a cloth to help her clean up the mess that Denny had literally spent all night making. Turning back around she scanned the small shop. It was once a two story home, but with the chef's kids grown and married and living in other parts of the City, he turned the bottom level into a small restaurant and bakery. The kitchen was small, but Sono and the chef were able to make more than enough food throughout the day to feed a small army. Sono wasn't sure how he managed to cook so much, but she figured it involved some sort of magick. Speaking of magick, small gray waves sounded outside the doors of the shop, meaning they would soon have a guest. The usual brown humming of the city morning was only broken up by the yellow and red waves that were still coming from Denny as he continued to eat food that was hours old. Rolling her eyes, Sono hurried over to him and started to clear away some of the food. "Denny, get off the table! We have a guest coming." She hit him lightly on the shoulder as she tried to clear away as much of the mess as possible. She'd never hear the end of it from the Chef if someone came into this place with a mess. The door swung open and the bell above it let out a ring and golden waves. Mustering up the warmest smile she could manage with her current predicament, Sono welcomed their guest and tried to hide the mess behind her. "Good morning! Please, have a seat anywhere... Over there..." She motioned towards some of the tables the furthest away from Denny and hoped their guest wouldn't mind the mess too much. words 786 notes Feel free to use Denny as your own. xD tag CALODOR |
